PROJECT IDEAS

FINGERPRINT TRIGGER LOCK

The purpose of this project is to create a device that would lock the trigger of a firearm. The lock would retract after the fingerprint of the owner is scanned approve by a microcontroller. The code would only allow for the lock to cleared for no other than the owner’s print.  The scanner will rest on the body of the firearm. Examples of this product exist, however they are much more bulky.

HIGHWAY SPEEDING POSTS

The project is meant to design a speeding detection system for highways or community roads. The system would be made up of two posts with sensors. They are tethered a camera that will flash for the image of license plate. The additional feature is that the posts and system can be mobile. The ability to move the system allow for randomize behavior so offenders don’t become familiar to their locations. The microcontroller will calculate the speed to

VISUAL-IMPAIRED GLASSES ASSISTENT

The purpose of this project is to create an assistant system for the visually-impaired. Its meant to allow more independence and versatility when navigating unknown and known obstacles. The system will consist of glasses with bluetooth earbuds and a sensor, in addition to a microprocessor to help identify obstacles. Many current accessible technologies are not streamlined and/or clunky. This system is set to be lightweight and scalable to assist more visually-impaired

TARGET-GUIDED QUADCOPTERS

The purpose of this project to coordinate two quadcopters that follows target (individual). The individual will carry a GPS module, that will be a reference to the two quadcopters. On the quadcopters, it will contain a microcontroller with a GPS module and a camera. This will allow for the quadcopters to obtain a visual for

WIRELESS POWER TRANSFER SYSTEM

The purpose of this project is to create a wireless power transfer system. The goal would be to create the means for devices to be powered without being directly connected in a continuous circuit. The system will consists of a power supply, two coals for energy transfer and a load. The transfer will be monitor to ensure the maximum the distance and power available. The project will allow for a scalable version

HOME ELECTRICAL POWER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

This system is to create an efficient distribution system for a home with multiple forms of powers. Given the growth of renewable energy, most of the population could benefit from using multimate forms of energy. This distribution system would allow for a home to use renewable energy while available then switch to the default power when needed.
