Work Prior to the following semester

Proposed dates for software development categories.

  • Temperature sensor - completed during proposal phase.

  • Rain sensor - 5/22

  • Wind sensor - 5/22

  • Daylight/Night sensor - 5/22

  • Detecting car sensor - 5/30

  • All sensors working together - 5/30

  • Trouble shooting software with all components - starting 6/3

During the semester break we received most of the sensor parts. We tested them to ensure we received properly working parts from the manufacturer.

Above is the wind sensor connected to the Arduino uno.

This video shows a demonstration of the wind sensor actively working and determining the speed of the wind. The code determines the speed of the wind along with the amount of voltage that is being pulled from the sensor.

Here we connected the rain sensor to the Arduino for testing. The sensor is also connected to a voltage regulator that keeps the Arduino and the sensor from receiving too much power. The solar power panel gives off more power than the maximum power it is suggested to give the Arduino which is 5v.

This is a video demonstration of the water sensor being able to determine whether the sensor is wet or not. The sensor is able to detect the water along with the different densities of the water to determine the amount of rain that is happening.

Here we are testing the voltage regulator to determine that 5V is the amount of voltage that will be received by the Arduinos.
